June is wound healing awareness month! At one point or another a dietitian may encounter a wound when providing care to a patient or client. Wound healing is complicated and can be delayed by underlying conditions such as uncontrolled diabetes, infection, and/or poor nutrition to name a few. Wound healing demands an increase in calories, protein, fluid, vitamins, and minerals. In today’s video learn how to properly manage a wound from a food and nutrition perspective.
